Located on the beautiful island of Koh Mak, Bamboo Hideaway is a small boutique style resort built in an aging rubber tree plantation using natural materials. This Thai/New Zealand venture has endeavoured to capture a feeling of peace and tranquility. Eight bungalows, elevated and accessible by a walkway from the restaurant, weave its way through the trees to accommodation that have been designed to give you all the luxuries of a more traditional resort but with the advantage that only natural materials can give. Bamboo Hideaway is only less than 5 minutes walk from the nearest beach, but our service also provides you with free transportation to any beaches on the island. Our swimming pool offers picturesque view of the ocean and sunset that no other places on the island can offer! |

Spacious and creatively thought-out each bungalow offer ocean views of the neighbour island of Koh Kood. All the bungalows have air conditioning, hot water and toilet facilities. The resort offers wireless internet and satellite TV. Situated off the beaten track you are surrounded by green trees and cooled by a gentle sea breeze. Our Resort is family friendly! We do have toys and games to accomodate the kids aswell as a children's swimming pool and a small football goal. |

Getting there …
| Four hours from Bangkok in the Eastern province of Trad, this small island (16sq kms) is part of the Koh Chang National Park archipelago. Once in Trad, a short journey to the coastal town of Laem Ngob and the option of a speed boat (forty five minutes), or the more leisurely wooden slow boat depart and cruises up the eastern coast of Koh Chang through a wonderland of small islands that are uninhabited, untouched and unspoilt. Comprising of 132 islands and still relatively unknown to western tourist the region has a multitude of activities such as diving, snorkeling, fishing, sailing or just relaxed on quiet, deserted white sandy beaches. A recent addition to the area is the pearl farm located, by boat, forty five minutes from Koh Mak. The gulf of Thailand is shallow, which means it is great for learning to dive, snorkel and kayak. |
